Healthy Recipes - Braised Greens

Every Saturday I make a meal plan for the upcoming week.  It makes thing SO much easier and we are less likely to grab fast food or eat something unhealthy because THE SCHEDULE tells us just what to eat.  Tonight we are trying this recipe for Braised Greens and I’m curious how it will turn out!  Cooking your greens??  Should be interesting!  Subscribe to me on Facebook to see how it turns out!

Braised Greens

Ingredients:
• 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
• ½ clove garlic
• ½ bunch greens (e.g., kale, collards, or chard)
• ¼ cup vegetable broth or water
• ¼ tsp. Himalayan salt

 

Directions:
Heat olive oil in large sauté pan.
Add garlic. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
Toss in greens and cook 1 more minute.
Add broth or water and salt and cover. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes until tender.
Uncover and cook 1 minute or more, depending on how tender you like your greens.
