🌀"I don't count my sit-ups. I only start counting when it starts hurting because they're the ones that count." ~ Muhammad Ali.🌀
Every time I was training for a half marathon I would end each practice run with a SPRINT. As hard, as fast, as long as I could go.
It built up my stamina so by the time I ran my last half marathon I was able to SPRINT the entire last mile, and finish STRONG.
It wasn't about cruising past a bunch of people at the end of the race, nah 🙅🏻- it was a moment where I showed MYSELF that when I'm TIRED and feel like I've given EVERYTHING I'VE GOT- I can give more.
There's MORE strength within. 🔥
Today I needed that reminder. 👆🏼 I felt weak, I felt like this is testing my limits, I wanted to end each move early as Chris Downing started the last few second countdown. I kept asking myself "Does it really matter to cut off the last ten seconds?"
But it does, it matters to ME. Cuz I know I'm only cheating myself if I do that.
So I reminded myself of the quote above from Muhammad Ali. I reminded myself of that experience training for half marathons.
I reminded myself that I AM STRONG.
& now I'm sharing with ya'all cuz I think people tend to be like me, and HIGHLY underestimate what they are capable of.
