I've always been inspired by Martin Luther King.
So many great quotes from MLK, but the one that impacts me the most would be this-
"If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl. But whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."
Can I share something with you guys?
When I first started my own journey to get in shape I signed up for a half marathon.
I had never ran more than three miles in my life. 😳 I was out of shape and overweight. But determined.
I remember one moment in particular I felt like I was going to die running this race. But that quote entered my mind. And I KNEW- if I just keep moving forward - NO MATTER HOW THAT LOOKS- crawling if I must, I WILL cross that finish line.
I did finish that race. And it changed me.
I had done a hard thing. Buuuuuuuut I was facing a mountain of hard things that I needed to change.
My finances were a mess, my health was a mess, my marriage was not the best, I wasn't showing up as a good mother for my kids, I wasn't where I wanted to be spiritually, I wasn't making the effort to be a friend to those around me.
And I knew I needed to change my negative cycle of behavior if I was EVER going to break free of depression.
Sooooo many bad habits stacked up.
So many things needed to change.
And it was OVERWHELMING.
But that quote guys, I'm telling you.... it FUELED my life overhaul!
Over the course of the last five years I feel my life is drastically different. Spiritually, socially, financially, with my marriage and my kids and my health - everything has improved.
BECAUSE I took that quote to heart.
And yes- it even fueled the belief that I could build a business by just moving FORWARD, no matter what. Hence ----> #forwardfitness
"Keep moving forward" is not only my business motto, it's my life motto.
I know with every fiber of my being that we are ALL capable of AMAZING amazing things. If we just do our best everyday, however it looks that day, and KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
Thanks for inspiring me MLK.
