I just set a new personal record!!
I'm doing Insanity Max 30 right now and it's designed so each workout maxes you out, pushing you to your limit. There's a timer along the bottom of the screen so you can see how long you last in each workout before needing a break.
Well...... Today I maxed out at 25 minutes!
Oh wait, is that a failure cuz I didn't make it the full 30 minutes?? No my friends, that's progress. Day 1, my first workout of Max 30, I maxed out at 4 minutes. Lol. Sooooo, I'm pretty happy about my "failure" at minute 25. #perspective
Ya know, I remember my first experience exercising regularly in training for my first half marathon. There were so many little moments like today where I would set new personal records! That's what got me hooked on exercise! The instant confidence boost, the feeling of ending a workout like "BOOYAH!!! I just did something I couldn't do a week ago!!"
Tony Robbins teaches how happiness doesn't come when you reach some grandiose destination or acquire some big purchase, or hit a new rank or income level. Happiness comes from making progress.
That's why you see some successful rich people who aren't happy- cuz they get complacent and stop setting goals and moving forward! And it's also why you can see people who are in a HORRIBLE horrible spot and yet freaking EXCITED and pumped up about life..... It happens when they take action to move forward!!!!
Doesn't matter where you are AT right this very moment; if you take a step FORWARD, and do something TODAY to progress you're going to feel a rush of happiness!
I'll take more of that please! Give me all the happy vibes radiating from movement FORWARD.
