Have you ever felt super overwhelmed? Felt like there was so many things to do, you didn't know where to start?

I've been there. Is it okay if I share a few things that have been working for me?

Cuz here's the thing, I was feeling overwhelmed in a MAJOR way Thursday/Friday. I didn't work for two weeks which is just a HUGE blessing because I still got a paycheck and didn't have to worry about being away from my family during a hard time. But coming back I have felt this {self imposed} pressure to jump right back in where I left off! Except coming back I had over 99 messages in my inbox, tons of texts, and tons of thank you cards that I wanted to write to everyone who has been so mindful of us. And of course with the new year there's all these things I wanted to do with my team and coaches and family to start the year off with a bang! Laundry, cleaning, kids, there's a lot I want to be doing right now!

So Thursday morning I did what I know how to do, I stared at my computer for a few hours, not sure where to start. Lol.

Luckily I have been listening to The Happiness Advantage. A book I want to make required reading for my team, it's so so good! By pure 'LUCK' the chapter I heard Thursday afternoon gave me great advice.

The author shared the story of Zorro and how he became a master by mastering only the things within a small circle, and slowly expanding. The author shared how he took this principle to work with hoarders and help them clean up their spaces. Even a business man who felt overwhelmed by the thousands of emails he had ignored and wanted to tackle. The principle is to channel all your efforts on small manageable goals I gain leverage to gradually conquer bigger and bigger goals. One zorro circle at a time.

So I did the same. I wrote out EVERYTHING there was to do to "catch up" on life. And figured I could handle this in groups of five. That felt manageable.

So each day I've been writing out my current to-do list and then I allow myself to grab five things off the "catch up on life" list.

With work I am responding to current texts and messages, plus taking five messages sent during the two weeks in the hospital and responding to those. Same with emails- five extra. Same with hand written cards- five a day.

So if you messages me during those two weeks, know you WILL hear from me. As I take this five at a time.

Because this is doing what I can, with what I have, with where I am at right now.

If you're feeling overwhelmed with something in your life, hopefully this helps you too! Focus on small manageable things and grow from there! The zorro circle, I swear it works!
